Cox Bazar is one of the most famous tourist spot and sea site situated in Bangladesh which is 145 km from the Chattogram city and takes around 3-4 hour to reach and bus fare is Rs 250 . This beach is called the world’s longest uninterrupted natural beach in the world .It’s length is 129 km . Rather than sea there is also mountain and some famous monastery like Rangkut Boudha Vihar and Aggameda Khyang . Teknaf in the Cox Bazar is the southern most mainland point of Bangladesh . The Name cox Bazar comes from Mr Hirom Cox who was a engineer from the British East India Company .
In this place there is a old wooden Myanmar style Buddhist monastery . It’s name is Aggameda Khyang . Inside this monastery there is lots of small bronze statue and the structure is placed on lots of wooden pillar .
Next place to visit in this place is Rangkut Vihar which is 10-15 km distant from the cox Bazar city . In this place in 268 BC Emperor Ashoka made this monastery where buddha’s chest bone is stored and believed to be one of the holiest among Bangladeshi Buddhist . Goutam buddha in his lifetime visited this place and stayed in this Rangkut hill . Beside this monastery there is a small garden called “Mirakkel Garden”. In this place you can see some funny posters inside the garden .
Cox Bazar beach is one of the main attraction . The beach is very wide and there is lots of resting place with umbrella cover here . You can see there is lots of Hawkers selling Jhalmuri , different fried items and lots of other food . In the beach you can see some big car with movable lockers . When you visit the beach , at that time you can deposit your valuable inside the locker . I must say this is a very good initiative , specially for those who travel solo .
There is some mountain and tribal village in this place . There is huge number of hotels inside this place but the site is over crowded and peace is lost in the Cox Bazar beach . But near to this place there is another beach which are less crowded , like Laboni beach and kolitoli beach . Nearby Himchori National Park is places to visit for tourist . Kutupalong Refugee camp in this place is the largest refugee camp in the whole world where 1.1 million Rohingya refugee flees from the nearby Arakan province of Mayanmar . For that reason security is very tight in this place and there is repeated checking for any threat in buses . Two people were detained in front of me in suspect of Rohingya inside the bus .

Rangkut Vihar is one of the oldest buddhist monestary in the whole Bangladesh which was build in the time of emperor Ashoka . In recent time there is huge influx of Rohingya refugee in this area after the atrocity in Mayanmmar .
