Melaka tourism is mainly concentrated on Heritage tourism and local pub culture . It is situated in the famous Malacca strait , from here world’s most of the shipping cargo passes and connect south asia with china and USA . In 2008 , this city has been awarded as the UNESCO’s World Heritage site . Malacca was founded in 15 th century by sultan Parameswara . Later It become the colony of Portuguese , Dutch and English People . Malacca city has the combination of Malay , indian , chines and Arabic peopple . Malacca food is also the combination of this culture .

This glorious red church is situated in the heart of the Malacca city in the Dutch square . This old protestant church was founded in the year 1753 . It’s iconic red color attracts the attention of the people . Interesting fact of the church is that the bell was build way before the church was build and the wooden beam supported the roof was taken from a same tree .There is a little coin exhibition in the front door of the Church .

St Paul’s church :

This is the oldest church in Malaysia , build in the year 1521 by the Portuguese . It is situated in the Hill top of St paul . Now a days , mostly it is a ruin and like a Museum . Inside of the building you can see different stone pillers which describe about the Church .

This is situated in the Hill top and from this place you can almost see the whole city and the sea beside the city of Malacca .

Cheng Hoon Teng Temple :

This is one of the oldest chines Temple inside the City of Malacca . This temple is the combination of the three religious opinion – Buddhism , Taoism and Confucianism .

It was established in the year of 1645 . Inside the temple you can see lots of incense in the big pot . The temple is very decorated and lots of messages were written in the Wall in Chines Language . In this temple you must see toward the roof . The art were just Magnificent .

I see , people come inside the temple and they buy some papers (written something in chines ). After that they put under fire , in a specific tower like building . When I ask them about the ritual , they said they , by burning the papers , they directly send the message to the God . This is a type of rituals they practice for connecting god .

Kampung Hulu Mosque :

This is one of the oldest Mosque in the city of Malacca . It was established in 1728 . It has a very unique design of Hut shape . There was a beautiful fountain inside the Mosque . Inside the mosque there is separate prayer room for both male and female .

The chandelier inside the mosque is really impressive . Wood is the primary element for making the structure of this building .

Entry fees : It is free for visitors .

Melaka strait Mosque :

Melaka strait mosque is one of the best looking and well spotted Mosque inside the city of the Malacca. Some of the structure of it is over the sea and when the water level rises it looks like , the mosque is floating in the water . For that reason it is called the Floating Mosque . It is situated just beside the Malacca Strait and the sunset from the Mosque is really mesmerizing .

There is a 30 meter high tower which is also used for the light House . View of the Melaka strait from the Mosque is amazing .

Melaka River :

Melaka river is like the heart of the Melaka city . The river has been concertized in the both of the sides and there is a narrow streets beside the river . Beside the street there is some private Museum , lots of restaurants and bars . In the way there was two bridges above the river . In the night time the river front is the most beautiful places to visit . They lighten the whole riverfront of the city .

In the night time there is motorized boats cruised inside the melaka river. Which is a 45 minutes river cruise and ticket price costs 25 RM . Most of the tourist like to do this activity .

Roofs of Malacca :

In my mind roofs are one of the most fascinating things to see in the Malacca city . Most of the houses are adjacent to each other and there is no gap between them and the roofs were shaded by the red clay tiles . It looks very unique when you see from the above . In every household there is a free space in the center of the building . In this part of the soil they grow plants .

Jonker Street :

It is one of the most famous streets in the city of Malacca . In both side of the road there is old Heritage buildings . Shops in the streets selling the chines items . I buy some chines food from the shops of this streets .

In Friday , Saturday and Sunday this street have been closed for the night Market from 6 :00 pm to 12 pm .

Some Unique shops in Malacca :

It looks like some Airplane and train coaches like , but it is not .Long times ago , it used to served like that but now this are Shops . You heart it right , inside of this carriage is some shops . You can see the AC machine in the track . I find this thing very interesting in melaka . In this area you can see this types of shops .

Little India :

In Malaysia , in different city there is a place called Little India. Which is the habitant of Indian diaspora and you will feel the fragrance of India in those streets . Mostly tamil culture flourished in those areas . You can have Indian food in this area . Indian saree and different items were available here .

Museums in Malacca :

Museum of samudra

This is looks like a pirate ship but not this is the famous Samudra Museum in Malacca . This museum was opened in 1994 and it shows the maritime history of Malacca and the growth of the Malacca port .

In Malacca there is lots of Museum . Some are private and some are Public . Among them Independence Museum , Submarine Museum , Navy Museum , Baba and Nyonya Museum , Stedthuys , House of museum , upside down Museum , Bee Museum are famous . There is also some private museum where they have collection of , some of the old items . I saw this private museums just beside the melaka river .

You can see lots of beautiful heritage houses inside this city .
