I started this travel on 27 th November from kolkata airport to chennai airport tamilnadu.
It reaches to chennai airport at around 11 o clock in night . As few days ago on 25 th Cyclone Nivar hits the city so It looks like Ghost Town . Most of the city is vacated . So I called my host in the hotel , If it is opened or not . He says it is ok the cyclone has gone . In the whole night it is like a motorbike ride from One place to another as Which hostels I have booked It closes around 10 in the night . I have arrived in chennai around 11 then starts searching for the Hostel . Actual problem is that in google mpas it’s location was shown wrong . I take a motorbike for the trips . Today wind was very high as after effects of the Nivar . I see in the city lots of hoarding were torn apart some trees are uprooted and the road was total empty in the night .
After 1 hour around 12 we reached the Hostel . Now there is no person outside and the door is locked . First we should from outside . When We see nobody is beside so we finally made a call and he says dors will not been opened . So after that I asked him to show some Hotel . On that way to the hotels we traveled a lot in the city . So he take me to some hotels but rate was too high as just have to make rest in the night. So I finally say him to take me to the CMBT bus stop. From where most of the long distance bus leaves . After that I give him money and goes inside the Bus station .
Here some shops are still opened . I take a water bottle , a pattis and a glass of milk . After that around 2 o clock bus leaves .This bus will gone to Madurai(Tamilnadu) . I don’t get direct bus but get a bus towards Tindivanam (Tamilnadu).From there I take another bus towards pondecherry. Upto Tindivanam there is lots of buses which are traveling to the southern parts of the state . Around 5 in the morning the bus starts toward pondecherry .I reached there around 8 in the morning . After reaching there i went for my hotel and rent a bicycle from nearby shop . rent for one day is 100 . It is cheap and you can made free ride to the city .
