Aizawl is a hill city , situated on a ridge of height 1132 meter . In this part of India people build city in the top of the mountain . It is the capital and the biggest city in Mizoram . Aizawl is one of the highly literated and cleanest city in India . This city has been established by the British in 25 th february 1890 . Climate of the city is very moderate throughout the year and the sky is clean . Most of the population of this area are catholic Christian and in sunday all the city is closed .
How to reach Aizawl :
Nearest airport to Aizawl is Lengpui Airport which is 30 km from the main city . From all the metro cities , there is a direct flight for this city . Mainly Air India operate in this route .
Jeeps are the major transport systems to reach Aizawl city . There is very few buses as the passengers are less and the road is narrow . Jeep are running from Silchar , Agartala and Imphal city toward Aizawl city . Jeep will start the ruturn journey from the Zarkawt station in Aizawl . some , Buses also coming from the Guwahati city .
If you to travel around the city , then state buses and jeeps are available around the city .
Nearest major railway station is Silchar station . From all the major cities there is a direct trains for the silchar city . From silchar to Aizawl road distance is 160 km and it takes almost 8 hours .

Solomon’s temple :
Solomon’s temple is one of the biggest church in India and build upon the inspiration of Namesake church of Jerusalem (as described in old testament) in 25 th december 2017 . It is the biggest church in Mizoram , At one time 10000 people can pray in this Museum .
It was totally build by the white marble rock and have four main pillars and 12 doors . In normal days people are not allowed to enter inside the church . There is beautiful garden outside the church .
Entry to the church is free .
Mizoram state Museum :
This is the only museum in the Aizawl city . It has a collection of items related to Mizo Culture . I went there two times but in the both the times it was closed .
There was a banner written about some protest was going inside the complex and the museum was closed .
Tam Dil:
Tam dil is a beautiful lake situated in the state of Mizoram surrounded by high mountains . This lake is situated almost 90 km from the Aizawl city .
There is a beautiful story associated with the lake . A Husband want to remove the last memory of his wife’s first husband . When the first husband of that woman dies , he said that , he will reborn as a mustard plant in the middle of the field .So she takes care of that plant. . After seeing this he forcefully pull out the mustard plant from the soil After that this hole gradually got bigger and this lake was formed .
Public transportation was not available in this place . so you have to make your own arrangements .
Vantawng waterfall :
Vantawng waterfall is the highest waterfall in the state of Mizoram . It is a multi layered waterfall and looks very nice .
It is situated almost 100 km from the Aizawl city and can be reached by jeep only
Reiek :
Reiek mountain is the highest mountain in the state of the Mizoram at the height of 1465 meter . It is situated just 29 km from the Aizawl city .
Lots of people trek this hill .This is one of the most popular trekking destination in Aizawl city .
Millennium centre :
Millenium shopping centre is situated in the heart of the Aizawl city in the zarkawt area . This is the only shopping mall situated inside the city . Mostly , the local brands sells items in this area .
I was there in the time of Christmas . At that time it was well decorated and there was huge footfall in the mall .

Aizawl is a hill town and the capital of the state Mizoram . It is one of the largest city in the north east India . Places to visit in Aizawl are reiek mountain , vantawng waterfall , Tamdil Lake and Solomon’s temple . As majority of the population is christian so sunday is totally closed for the prayer . Weather is chilly cold in the winter but there was no snow fall in the city .
