How to reach to borra Caves ?

It is located in the deep forest of the Anantagiri hills . Still for being a tourist place it is connected by the Rail and Road transport system .

I think Railway is the best option who want to come by public transport . As Borra Caves train station is in the walkable distance though the main bus road is 6-7 km away . From there you have to hire private vehicle .

For coming to the Borra Caves First come to the Vishakapatnam city . Then come borra Caves by Bus or Train.

Vishakapatnam is the major junction in the south India . From all cities there is direct train .

Vishakapatnam also have Airport so you can come here by air also .

NH16 passes through the Vishakapatnam city .

Story

My journey started from the Vishakhapatnam city which I visited during the Puja Holiday in the october Month of 2020 . From there I take a bus toward araku valley . In google it was shown that It was very near from the araku valley so I don’t take too much attention in the road . It was a APSRTC bus . Bus was in good condition . Seats recline very well . From vishakhapatnam to araku valley it was 114 km . Road was mountainous in the most of the part and the scenes besides are very beautiful . It left vishakhapatnam around 6:30 and reached araku in 10 : 30 am . Now when I inquire about the borra caves they said you have to get down 30 km back and then with some transport you have to reach borra caves which is 6 km apart from the high way . Now I have to come back .

Araku valley is a very beautiful place with lots of paddy farming and some flower farming . This place have been inhabited by the tribal people . Here you can see tribal museum where I went . It was very well maintained . Here you will find lots of models which depict the village life of the tribal people . This models show their dress , ornaments , fishing technique , weaving technique and also their house building technique . There is also some statue showing their dance moves and their festivals . It was worth of time spent . After spending there almost 1 hour I take a bus toward the borra caves . You should be very careful as google maps also pointing wrongly from the araku valley to the borra caves position .

Bus takes around 1 hour to reach the destination to reach the place . From there I take a shared auto to take me to the borra caves gate . Now from the ticket counter I brought a ticket and enter the caves . It is a very narrow passage leaning over the clief . By this way you have to come in the entrance of the borra caves . Entrance is huge mmight be 30 -40 m hight . Here inside the caves AP tourism have placed the LED light very well to look it beautiful .

From the entrance first you have to get down by the stairs . It is 80 m deep at it’s height depth . Now starts the caves . Inside the cave you always find that water is pouring drop by drop from the above rock . Inside there you may find different rock formation making different shape . There is a lots of bats hanging from the roof of the cave and making bad smell . Inside the cave light is low and slippery so be careful when walking inside the cave . Inside the cave there is a place where there rock structure looks like Shiva parvati . Local tribal people worship it as God . Here is a place where there is a very narrow passage to pass for a single people between rocks . It feels adventurous . After spending for 30 mins I come out of the cave .

Now I walked to a nearest food store and eat a biriyani . Now the staff in the hotel drop me to the main road by his motorcycle . From Here also I get a cab to the vishakhapatnam city and drop me just in front of my Hotel . Now I take some food to room and after eating sleep .
